Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈
What is Pride Month?
Pride Month, always in June, is a month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ communities across the globe. The reason it's celebrated in June is because that's when the Stonewall Riots took place – important protests in 1969 in the US that helped shape LGBTQ+ rights around the world.
Pride in Nottingham isn't just a parade, it's a celebration of the vibrant LGBTQ+ community that thrives in this city. So whether you're part of the community or an ally, there are loads of ways to get involved, show support and have a fabulous time.
Nottingham Pride
When: 26 July 2025, 11am – 11pm
Price: FREE
Kick off the day with the Pride March starting at 11am from Listergate, where over 7,000 LGBTQ+ people, allies and businesses will march through the city centre. If you're planning on joining in, we recommend to plan ahead and bring plenty of water as you can be on your feet for a while – but it's worth it!
After the parade, head to the market to find stalls along the streets like local grassroots community groups, charities and more that offer LGBTQ+ services, support and information.
Now it's time to put your dancing shoes on and join the festival. Keep your eyes on the stage to see some brilliant performances from local artists, covering everything from spoken word poetry to drag queens.
Don't want the day to end? Don't worry, there'll also be plenty afterparty celebrations to keep the good vibes going throughout the night.
How to make the most of Pride:
- Dress up and stay safe – express yourself but check the weather and stay hydrated, Pride days can get long!
- Bring cash and card – some independent traders may only take cash, so make sure you have both cash and card if you want to support small local businesses.
- Respect everyone's identity – Pride is all about inclusivity and respect, so be mindful of other people's boundaries and pronouns.
- Go with friends – going to Pride in a group can be more fun and safer.
Pride is for everyone who believes in letting people be their true selves, so whether you're marching, dancing, learning or just showing up to support your friends, get involved and make the most of Pride in Nottingham this year.
